How to program a garage door opener to a receiver.
Share
There are different ways to program a remote control into the receiver! And they’re all very easy!
Option 1: The easiest way to program a garage remote control using a working remote
First, take both remote controls for your automatic doors. Using the remote that is already working to open your garage, garden, or any other automatic door, you can program the new remote you just bought by copying the information from the working one to the new one.
Place both remotes facing each other on a non-metallic surface, keeping the LED parts very close together, as shown in the image below:
Now follow these steps:
- Press and hold button 1 on the working remote until the end of the process.
- Press and hold buttons 1 and 2 on the new remote that is not yet programmed. After a few seconds, the LED on the new remote will flash 3 times to confirm successful programming.
- The LEDs on both remotes will turn off, indicating that the programming is complete.
- In front of the door, press button 1 on the new remote twice. The first press will sync with the receiver, and the second will open the door.
- Now test the new remote to ensure it works properly.

Option 2: Another way to program a garage remote by entering the receiver's programming mode using a working remote
Simply press the first two buttons on your working garage remote, then press the button on the new remote and wait for the receiver to exit programming mode. Within a few minutes, your receiver (mounted with a couple of screws) will be set up and the new remote will be programmed to open and close your garage door.
When you enter receiver programming mode, you should hear a beep.
When pressing the button on the remote to open the garage, another beep should sound.
When exiting programming mode, two beeps should sound.
Now test the new remote to make sure it works properly.
